Room Air Purifiers
The environment we live in today is becoming more and more unhealthy with the air we have to breathe each and every day filled with dirt, dust, toxic vehicle emissions as well as the poisionous particles dispersed by industry. Whilst the majority of this polluted air is outdoors, it is inevitable that some of it is going to find its way into our homes and offices.
It is estimated that up to 80% of our time each day is spent indoors, either in our homes or at work, and as air is not able to circulate as freely as it does outside, it is important that we get rid of the impurities in the air that are going to quickly build up. Dependent on finances available, purchasing one of the many room air purifiers on the market is by far the best solution.
Allergies and breathing disorders such as asthma can be traumatic to sufferers so having clean air will help tremendously in relieving their problems. Room air purifiers will help to clean the air by drawing in dirty air, passing it through its internal filter system and then releasing the revitalised clean air back into the room.
Powerful yet small, room air purifiers are capable of circulating a large amount of air. The size of the room usually dictates the size of the unit, but most room air purifiers are available for rooms measuring 500 square feet and above, and are mounted on wheels so they can easily be transported from one room to another.
As far as the different types of room air purifier systems available go, by far the most popular and common one is the High Efficiancy Particulate Air (HEPA). Although popular, this filter unit is more effective against particulate contamination in the air, but less effective against odors and gases.
Another popular range of filter systems are the Ionic room air purifiers. These Ionic filters work by releasing negative charged ions into a room which subsequently bond with positive charged impurities in the air, allowing them to be drawn into the unit and released back into atmosphere as clean air.
The ozone air purifier is the thrid most popular of the room air purifiers. This works by releasing the ozone into the air which in turn kills bacteria as well as neutralizing the effects of several gases and odors. Care should be taken when using one of these units however as excess exposure to ozone can be harmful.
There's no doubt that there is a wide range of room air purifiers available in type, size and price. The choice of which one suits your purpose is going to rely on the size of the room, the level of air pollution that needs to be cleared and last but not least, your available budget.
